2012 has been an exciting year at Madava Farms, the Home of Crown Maple. Now open to visitors, the farm is a flurry of activity year round and we enjoyed welcoming our first guests this fall. Madava Farms will be open for one final weekend this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8-9, before taking a short break to ensure that each tap is perfectly placed to catch every drop of 100% pure maple from the forest this winter.
The Crown Maple harvest promises to be extra special this year - for the first time we'll be able to share the experience with you! The farm will reopen for visits, maple tours, harvest activities and lunch on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Saturday, February 2. While we can't guarantee the sap will be flowing for syrup making on any specific day, a delicious lunch and exquisite desserts always await in The Farm Stand.
Until then, here are some great ideas for spending a festive day at the farm.

Culinary Maple Tour & Tasting
Experience Crown Maple's sugarhouse tour and travel the path our extraordinary syrup takes from tree to barrel. You'll learn what gives Crown Maple its pure taste and why maple is one of the earth's most precious crops. Each tour includes a three-stage culinary tasting in Madava's new tap-holed maple tasting room.
$10/adults $5/children 10 and under

Maple Ginger Cookie Decorating
Save room for dessert and enjoy the holiday spirit at Madava by decorating some of Chef Griffin's freshly baked, popular Crown Maple Ginger Cookies. Mr & Mrs. Ginger are sure to be both decorative and delicious, accompanied by a mulled cider, hot chocolate, or coffee drink. It's a great activity and a fun way to spend time with family and friends.
$10 per person, includes 2 large ginger people, colorful decorative fixings, and a hot beverage.

Holiday Chef Dinner
Madava Farms welcomes Brandon Collins, Executive Chef at The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls, for a holiday evening dinner at the farm.
Chef Collins produces exciting and unexpected pairings in his cuisine, seeking out the very best ingredients including Crown Maple Syrup. Chef Collins has received great reviews from both Food & Wine and The New York Times. He is a graduate of Culinary Institute of America and one of the Hudson Valley's most engaging chefs. You'll have the opportunity to meet Chef Collins, learn about his culinary inspiration and experience four original courses presented together and developed especially for Madava's Holiday Dinner.

From the Farm provides updates on how the Crown Maple team is turning sap from the some of the most regal maple trees into quite possibly the purest maple syrup on earth.
