Crown Maple Syrup: A Great Gift or Party FavorSubmitted by Lydia on July 6, 2011 - 1:00am
We recently celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents, Barbara and Stephen Kotch, with an intimate dinner with family and close friends.
We did a few fun things to make the surprise celebration meaningful. My father draws and paints and had sketched a picture of my mom and him 50 years ago. So we used that as the party theme; we framed the sketch and had cards made for all of the guests. We also gave my mom a mock version of her wedding bouquet, which of course she loved.
And all of the guests received a party favor of – you guessed it! – Crown Maple Syrup. We put bottles of Crown Maple Syrup in a nice gift bag with a tag that read, “50 sweet years.”
You know, it’s funny. Robb and I are always surprised that people are so interested in what we’re doing at Crown Maple Farm. Even our own family and friends have lots of questions about our pure maple syrup! Guests at the party were asking questions like, “How did you start this?” and “How do you make the syrup?” And once people try Crown Maple Syrup, they are delighted. Some have even compared the taste to a fine liqueur.
All in all, the party was a great success. I think the key to successful entertaining is little touches that make guests feel special, don’t you? I’d love to hear what you have done to make your events special.
