One of the prime reasons Robb and Lydia Turner created Crown Maple Syrup and entered the maple sugaring business was so they could preserve the majestic maple groves on Crown Maple Farm for future generations to enjoy.
When starting the business, we gathered a great deal of data to document the character of our maple groves, as well as the features and habitats of the different sections of Crown Maple Farm. Armed with this data, we created a plan designed to manage our sugarbush for maple sugar production while retaining a wide species mix to ensure a diverse, healthy forest ecosystem.
What we learned along the way is that our sustainable forestry practices are not only preparing for the future, they’re keeping our sugarbush healthy and productive today – which helps us create the purest maple syrup on earth.
