Maple Ginger Snaps
You thought you could never compare with Grandma's ginger snaps. But you have a secret weapon: the regal goodness of Crown Maple Syrup, quite possibly the purest maple syrup on earth.
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 large egg
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons Crown Maple Medium Amber Syrup
Note: If you can forage some ground wild ginger from an herbal store, it adds an amazing floral note to the cookies, but they are wonderful with regular ginger.
