Thomas Ruggiero Joins New York’s Crown Maple as Director of Sales

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. (Feb. 11, 2015) – Crown Maple®, a leading producer of premium maple syrup, has announced the hire of Thomas Ruggiero ( as the company’s incoming Director of Sales. Ruggiero joins one of the most technologically-advanced maple producers, bringing with him twenty years of sales experience within the food and beverage sector. He will directly oversee Crown Maple’s national sales team based out of the Hudson Valley in New York.

In addition to a wealth of direct sales experience to key channels, including direct wholesale to grocery, retail chains of every size, food service, and food manufacturers, Ruggiero has personally managed large sales teams across North America (including Canada and Mexico). Further, he has facilitated three successful product launches from the ground up.

Ruggiero leaves his current role at Galicia Food and Drink LLC where he served as General Manager and Director of Business Development. Prior to his role with Galicia, Ruggiero was the National Sales Director for Hero and Parmalat as well as Category Manager for both A&P and Wakefern.

When asked about the hire, Crown Maple CEO Compton Chase-Lansdale said, “Thomas has an incredible amount of experience and knowledge within the natural/specialty food market and that’s just the fit we were looking for. I am confident his leadership will only strengthen and expand our position as a recognized leader in the sector.”

Thomas Ruggiero is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and resides in New York’s Hudson Valley.
