Maple Beer Quick Bread

This simple and savory quick bread makes a nice breakfast bread or a delicious accompaniment to a hot bowl of soup. Add any combination of mix-ins to create your own favorite!

1 loaf, 8-10 servings


3 cups All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Crown Maple Sugar
2 Eggs
1- 12 oz. Bottle of Beer (for best results, we recommend a light beer)
2 Tbl Butter, Melted
Suggested Mix-Ins:
Frozen Crumbled Goat Cheese
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Green Onion
Crumbled Bacon or Sausage
Dried Chorizo
Chopped Spinach
Feta Cheese


Step One

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a large loaf pan

Step Two

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and maple sugar and place in a large mixing bowl

Step Three

Whisk together the eggs and beer, add to the dry ingredients, and fold together

Step Four

Gently stir in an additional mix-ins desired and spread evenly into the prepared loaf pan

Step Five

Bake, turning occasionally, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 50-65 minutes

Step Six

Melt Butter and brush all over the bread. Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes and turn out onto a cooling rack and allow to cool before slicing
