Maple Cornbread

Maple Cornbread

This traditional cornbread is lightly sweet and a delicious accompaniment to any meal, eaten as a snack or made into a cornbread stuffing

1, 9x13" Pan


4 Large Eggs
1 1/3 cups Buttermilk
1 1/3 cups Whole Milk
1/2 cup Very Dark with Robust Taste Syrup
2 cups All Purpose Flour
2 cups Yellow Cornmeal
1/2 cup Crown Maple Sugar
1 Tbl + 1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp Salt
4 Tbl Butter, melted


Step One

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13" baking pan with cooking spray and set aside

Step Two

Whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, whole milk and maple syrup

Step Three

In a seperate bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, maple sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt

Step Four

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk together. When combined, whisk in the melted butter

Step Five

Pour batter into a prepared pan and bake until golden around the edges and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container
